Reece Robson, the Westpac NSW Blues hooker, is in a race against time to participate in the Cowboys' upcoming match against the Storm at AAMI Park this Friday.
Although Robson has been named to travel with the team, North Queensland coach Todd Payten has indicated that his availability is uncertain, potentially affecting the Blues selection expected to be announced next Monday.
The 26-year-old played a significant role in the recent Origin triumph over Queensland, making 42 tackles in the 18-6 win, and he continued to play for the Cowboys against the Wests Tigers, exiting the match in the 53rd minute.
If Robson is unable to play, Connor Watson from the Sydney Roosters, who is currently in the Blues squad, has already stepped in to replace him for the final 16 minutes of Origin I.
Other alternatives could include Warriors hooker Wayde Egan and Wests Tigers co-captain Api Koroisau, both of whom are also viable options for the Blues should Robson be ruled out.
