Raiders Players Granted Permission to Explore Future Options
Canberra Raiders' young talents, Chevy Stewart and Trey Mooney, have reportedly received the green light to engage in discussions with rival teams, allowing them to leave the club at the end of the 2025 season.
This development comes as both players, former Under-19s NSW Blues representatives, navigate uncertain futures with the Raiders.
Stewart, once seen as a promising fullback alongside emerging stars like Liam Ison, Sua Fa'alogo, and Isaiah Iongi, has faced challenges recently.
Initially considered a future stand-in for the No.1 jersey after transferring from Cronulla, his position has since diminished with Kaeo Weekes securing a long-term contract and establishing himself as the first-choice fullback.
With Stewart now on the outer, he and Mooney have been authorized to explore opportunities with other clubs, as reported by The Daily Telegraph.
Stewart is reportedly drawing interest from the St George Illawarra Dragons and possibly the Sharks, his former team.
This situation will allow both players to seek new opportunities as they prepare for their next steps in professional rugby league.
