The South Sydney Rabbitohs have bid adieu to seven players following their final showdown of the 2024 NRL season against the Sydney Roosters.

Star player Damien Cook is set to spread his wings to join the St George Illawarra Dragons on a two-year deal, while Thomas Burgess has decided to hang up his boots in the NRL and head back to the Super League with the Huddersfield Giants.

In addition to Cook and Burgess, the Rabbitohs have unveiled that five other players will be departing the team.

The departing players include Dean Hawkins, Dion Teaupa, Izaac Thompson, Leon Te Hau, and Michael Chee-Kam.

Hawkins, who was crowned the 2023 NSW Cup Player of the Year, has showcased his skills as a reliable backup in the halves and is rumored to be eyeing a move to either the Gold Coast Titans or Parramatta Eels.
