Wighton Faces Two-Month Layoff After Injury
South Sydney faced a major setback during their match against Newcastle, as centre Jack Wighton has been ruled out after suffering a probable radius fracture to his forearm.
The injury took place during a tackle with Knights fullback Kalyn Ponga, whose weight fell directly on Wighton's forearm.
The radius, located on the thumb side of the forearm, is the bone affected, and medical personnel have pinpointed the area where the fracture is likely to have occurred.
Should scans validate the fracture, Wighton may face a recovery period of one to two months, posing a significant challenge for a Rabbitohs team currently in the top four.
The club plans to issue an additional update once the imaging results are received.
