In a thrilling match that secured Newcastle's spot in the NRL finals, star player Kalyn Ponga suffered a right shoulder injury.

Ponga showcased his skills by scoring a try and contributing to three other tries before being forced to leave the field.

The game started with the Sharks taking the lead, but it was the Knights who dominated the rest of the match.

Their victory, which included tries from Bradman Best, Dom Young, Greg Marzhew, and Dylan Lucas, propelled them into fifth place on the ladder, surpassing the Sharks.

Unfortunately, Ponga's outstanding performance was marred by a brutal tackle from Jesse Ramien, leaving him in immense pain on the ground.

The Knights suspect that Ponga may have injured his AC joint, and scans are scheduled for Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
