The Newcastle Knights are on the verge of a significant boost as rookie second rower Francis Manuleleua aims to return for their elimination final this weekend.
Manuleleua suffered a dislocated elbow during a match against the Warriors in Round 26, which initially raised concerns about a lengthy recovery.
Fortunately, scans confirmed that no fractures were present, greatly enhancing his chances of rejoining the team in the finals.
As reported by CODE Sports, he is now likely to play against South Sydney, bringing much-needed energy and skill to the Knights' lineup.
"It's going good," he stated to CODE Sports. "The club's trying to give me the best chance to play this Friday, obviously got to tick a few boxes this week to try to get through contact."
He added, "But yeah it feels good, all my movement's back, just got to get the swelling down a bit and I think I'll be sweet for this Friday. I'm a real good chance."
Since his NRL debut in Round 3, Manuleleua has impressed as a powerful backrower. He has become a key player after Dylan Lucas' ankle injury sidelined him.
In his eleven appearances, Manuleleua has contributed six try assists, eight line breaks, and 26 tackle breaks, showcasing his potential and exciting fans in the Hunter region.
