The Leigh Leopards are on the cusp of making history in the Betfred Super League, with head coach Adrian Lam and hooker Edwin Ipape leading the charge.

Lam, known as the 'Kumul Kid' from his playing days, and Ipape, hailing from rugby league-mad Papua New Guinea, are injecting some much-needed energy into the team.

With Papua New Guinea being the only country where rugby league is considered a national sport, the influence of Lam and Ipape on the Leopards' success cannot be denied.

After securing their first Challenge Cup win in over 50 years last season, Leigh are now eyeing a spot in the Grand Final and potentially their first top-flight title since 1982.

"It's all about putting yourself in the picture and competing for a full 80 minutes," Ipape explained to Sky Sports after a crucial play-off victory over Salford Red Devils.

"We have that competitive edge and the drive to succeed for the team and ourselves."

With the semi-final against reigning champions Wigan Warriors looming, the Leopards are ready to give it their all and create a momentous occasion in Rugby League history.

Watch out for the Leigh Leopards as they aim to make their mark in the Betfred Super League.
