NRL forgets Kiwis in Anzac tribute uproar

NRL's Anzac Day post slammed by fans

The NRL has been slammed by fans on social media for failing to mention New Zealand in their Anzac Day post.

In what can only be described as a sin of omission, the league uploaded a 40-second video to their official X account in the lead up to ANZAC Round kicking off on Thursday afternoon.

Social media users were quick to point out the oversight, along with a pesky spelling mistake, in the caption of the video.

It read, "In Round 8 of the Telstra Premiership, the game will have the opportunity to honour and commemorate the generations of Australian servicemen and women who have defended the values and freedoms, in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

"ANZAC Round: recognising resilience & unity."

This blunder has left fans feeling as though the NRL dropped the ball, missing a golden opportunity to pay tribute to both Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women.

It's a rookie mistake from the league, who are known for their dedication to honouring the Anzac spirit in Rugby League history.

Let's hope they can make amends and regroup before the next big game.
