NRL Denies Blacklist Claims by Terrell May

The NRL has refuted assertions that Terrell May of the Wests Tigers has been barred from appearing on their social media platforms.

In a discussion on Josh Mansour's podcast, Unscripted, May suggested that he and his brothers have faced limited exposure due to their surname.

"The whole perception of the May last name, I don't want to make it an excuse but everyone knows it bro. the last name's very demoralised (sic) in the NRL space," he stated during the episode.

"People have reached out to me saying the NRL don't approve mine and Tiny's (Taylan's) stuff on social media, they won't post you, they're not allowed to, all this kind of stuff," he explained, highlighting concerns about policies surrounding visibility.

"I've got a few messages from people in that space telling me they're not allowed to post (videos of) your tries, not allowed to post you guys on the app and stuff, and I'm like bro, how political is this stuff," May continued to express his frustrations.

"That's a whole other story. I don't want to use it as an excuse, but everyone runs down my last name," he added.

In response, Nine.com.au contacted the NRL for clarification. The league denied May's allegations and provided examples to the publication to support their stance.

As a standout forward, May's absence from last year's NSW Blues selection raised eyebrows, especially given his form.

On the podcast, he also mentioned a meeting with Daley following the announcement for the 2025 Game 1 squad.
