Metcalf Surges into Dally M's Top Five

Luke Metcalf, the halfback for the NZ Warriors, has achieved six points for the second consecutive week and the third time this season, propelling him into the top five of the Dally M leaderboard.

His recent performances have boosted his total from nine points to 21, placing him alongside Brisbane's Payne Haas.

He trails only Cronulla Sutherland's Will Kennedy (27), Wests Tigers' Terrell May (26), and Roosters' James Tedesco (24).

Metcalf showcased exceptional skill in Saturday's thrilling Magic Round victory over the Cowboys, scoring two tries and five goals for a total of 18 points.

Additionally, he made 162 metres from 11 runs, achieving two line breaks, two line break assists, and seven tackle breaks.

One of his most notable contributions was a crucial try-saving tackle on North Queensland winger Murray Taulagi with 15 minutes remaining, helping the Warriors maintain their 30-26 lead for their sixth win of the season.

Warriors loose forward Erin Clark also made an impact, securing three points in recognition of his performance.

The remaining three points were distributed between North Queensland's Tom Dearden and Scott Drinkwater.
