Jarome Luai's future in the NRL has taken a $4.5 million twist as the Wests Tigers and the Canterbury Bulldogs enter the race for the star player.
The Panthers have offered Luai a $1.7 million contract extension, but the Tigers are reportedly ready to make him a $1.1 million man a season.
The Bulldogs, however, have also met with Luai in a formal meeting and could potentially lure him to the club.
It is reported that the Tigers' offer will remain the highest bid, but Luai now faces a major decision as he enters the open market.
The Bulldogs, who are in the middle of a huge rebuild, are also targeting Warriors forward Addin Fonua-Blake.
Luai's decision will have a significant impact on the NRL landscape as clubs vie for his signature.
