Highly-rated 19-year-old Jye Linnane has joined the NZ Warriors ahead of the 2026 preseason, signing a three-year NRL contract.
According to reports from warriors.kiwi, Linnane, who previously played as a five-eighth for the Newcastle Knights, is in Auckland to continue his recovery from knee surgery.
The young talent has an impressive background, having participated in 36 games across various junior leagues, including the Jersey Flegg Cup, SG Ball Cup, and Harold Matthews Cup since 2021.
Linnane attributes his footballing strengths to his "running game and speed." He had been on a development contract with Newcastle for 2025 and was training effectively with the club's NRL squad until his plans were interrupted by a second ACL injury in January.
