Lebanon's World Cup squad without Moses

Lebanon confirm Rugby League World Cup squad

Mitchell Moses will not return for Lebanon at the 2026 Rugby League World Cup, having joined Australia's squad instead.

The Cedars have named 23 players under Michael Cheika, who led them to the quarter-finals in 2022 before Australia eliminated them.

That campaign secured Lebanon automatic qualification for the 2026 tournament.

Jacob Kiraz, who starred at fullback in 2022, is set to face Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby in Lebanon's opening match.

Teenage Broncos forward Tupou Francis chose Lebanon despite being eligible for six nations and joins his older brother, Tony.

If both play, they could meet their cousin Lehi Hopoate when Lebanon take on Tonga.

Adam Doueihi will miss the tournament after shoulder reconstruction surgery in August.

Abbas Miski and Alew Twal bring experience, while James Roumanos, Jordan Samrani and Charbel Tasipale featured in Lebanon's 2019 World Cup Nines squad without NRL experience.

Jason Saab is set for his Lebanon debut after a successful case to the IRL, strengthening the Cedars' backline.
