Kennar in hot water as MRC dole bans

In an unfortunate turn of events from Saturday's triple header in Round 24, Richie Kennar finds himself in hot water with the Match Review Committee, facing a hefty suspension.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs' winger was sin-binned for a high shot on Luke Laulilii during their clash with the Wests Tigers, leading to a Grade 2 careless high tackle charge.

This isn't Kennar's first rodeo, as it marks his third offence on his rap sheet.

If he takes the quick route with an early guilty plea, he'll be sidelined for three matches.

However, if he rolls the dice and challenges the charge at the NRL judiciary, he could be looking at a four-match hiatus.

Either way, his season with the Rabbitohs is on the line, with the team already out of contention for both NRL and NSW Cup finals, and only three weeks left in the regular season.

The Rabbitohs are no strangers to adversity this season, with injuries piling up like loose balls in a scrum.

Kennar's potential absence adds to the team's woes, leaving them with yet another challenge to overcome in their quest for success on the field.
