As the 2026 season concludes, the Melbourne Storm has announced significant roster changes, including the departure of ten players.
This revelation came during the club's awards night, with notable exits such as Marion Seve and Keagan Russell-Smith added to the list.
Seve, a versatile outside back, has competed in 52 matches for the Storm since starting his career in 2019.
At 31, he has been a consistent presence in the squad, with his peak performance occurring in 2022 when he participated in 15 games.
Despite his potential, he has played limited minutes in recent seasons, with a mere six appearances since 2023, including just one in 2026.
Russell-Smith, 23, made his debut in 2024 but has struggled to secure a regular spot on the team.
Lineup competition has hindered his advancement, with the departure of Jonah Pezet failing to free up playing time for him.
He played his first match against the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 26 of 2024 and has only participated in another top-level game since then.
Alongside Seve and Russell-Smith, the club confirmed eight more departures, including Joe Chan, who will move to the North Queensland Cowboys.
Others leaving the Storm are Shawn Blore (Brisbane Broncos), Tui Kamikamica (retired), Nick Meaney (Perth Bears), Davvy Moale (Manly Sea Eagles), Will Warbrick (New Zealand Warriors), Tyran Wishart (Perth Bears), and Lazarus Vaalepu, who has already transitioned to the English Super League.
