NRL Pacific Championships 2024: Star Jillaroo sent for scans ahead of grand final
The Jillaroos are facing a tough challenge as they deal with injuries to two of their key players before the Pacific Championships final.
One star player has been sent for scans as the team frantically searches for a replacement.
According to the latest report from news.com.au, Jillaroos captain Kezie Apps is on track to take the field in the Pacific Championships final in two weeks.
She successfully passed her medical exam and is set to rejoin the team next week.
The 33-year-old was forced off the field with a leg injury during the team's 14-0 victory over New Zealand, raising doubts about her availability for the final showdown at CommBank Stadium on November 10.
Thankfully, those concerns have been put to rest and she is expected to be included in the squad next week, putting an end to speculation that Dally M Medallist Olivia Kernick could be called up as a last-minute replacement.
Meanwhile, Jillaroos' Olivia Higgins, the team's talented dummy half, is still dealing with an injury.
The Newcastle native will undergo scans later this week to determine if she can join the squad after suffering a dislocated right wrist in the match against the Kiwi Ferns and being unable to return to play.
It's worth noting that the 32-year-old managed to pass her medical assessment despite the partial dislocation, showing her determination to make it back on the field for the big game.
