Jacob's Tackle: Guilty, But When's He Back?

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

Jacob Preston, a second-rower for the Canterbury Bulldogs, has been found guilty of a crusher tackle at the NRL judiciary and will be sidelined for four weeks.

According to zerotackle.com, Preston received the charge during the Magic Round clash against the Gold Coast Titans, where he tackled opposition captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui in the game's final moments.

He was sin-binned for the tackle before being charged with a Grade 1 crusher tackle.

Given that this was his third offense, the NRL imposes strict penalties on crusher tackles.

Preston could have received a three-match ban by accepting an early guilty plea but opted to contest the charge at the judiciary.

As a result of losing this appeal, he will serve the full four-match suspension.
