The Parramatta Eels have officially announced the re-signing of their standout player, Isaiah Iongi, who has secured a long-term contract following his impressive rookie season.

Iongi made the switch from the Penrith Panthers to the Eels at the beginning of the 2025 season, stepping into the role vacated by Clint Gutherson. Throughout the season, he emerged as one of the team's most reliable players.

Despite a challenging season for the Eels, Iongi remained a consistent source of positivity, earning a contract extension that will keep him with coach Jason Ryles' team until at least the end of 2030.

"This past year has been surreal, I came to Parramatta for an opportunity and now it's become home," Iongi said in regard to his new agreement.

He further expressed, "I've built a great connection with Jason Ryles, the coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone at the Club, and I'm grateful for the faith they've shown in me. The incredible support from the fans has made my journey even more special."

Additionally, Iongi remarked, "We've grown so much as a team over the past year, and I can't wait to keep building the future together at this Club."

During the season, Iongi faced some injury setbacks but ultimately managed to score 8 tries and assist in another 12. He also represented Tonga in the Pacific Championships following the completion of the season.
