Ben Ikin has expressed serious concerns regarding Michael Maguire's ability to adapt to the current playing group at the Broncos, warning that he could be "pushed out the door" if he fails to do so.

This comes after a disappointing stretch where the Broncos suffered their sixth loss in seven matches, leading fans to question Maguire's effectiveness as head coach.

Ikin, who was formerly the head of football at the Broncos and is now the CEO of Queensland Rugby League, emphasized that the current squad was built around the vision of former coach Kevin Walters.

Moreover, Darren Lockyer commented on Maguire's precarious position, suggesting that the coach's job was not guaranteed if performance did not improve.

Ikin reinforced this sentiment, indicating that Maguire needs to adapt more quickly than expected.

Reports have surfaced about unrest among the players, with some discussing the toll Maguire's coaching style is having on the team.

Despite these claims, player Kotoni Staggs has publicly defended Maguire.

Ikin highlighted the challenges Maguire faces in implementing his coaching style with a roster that was assembled in line with Walters' approach.

He stated, "They look like a group that is not all on the same page at the moment.

Most people could tell you that Madge's style is probably a lot different from Kevvie's.

That current roster and footy program was built in Kevvie's image.

So you bring in someone who is a polar opposite in Madge and it's going to take a while to adapt."

This situation presents a significant dilemma for Maguire as he navigates the complexities of a roster that may not align with his coaching philosophy, risking further instability within the team.
