Speculation surrounding Hudson Young's future beyond 2028 remains a hot topic, as uncertainty continues to cloud his playing prospects.
Insights from Raiders CEO Don Furner have offered fans hope regarding Young's potential long-term commitment to the team.
On SEN's Kick Off, Furner noted, "Look, we're quietly confident...He's told us that it'll be either us or there, so I guess that gives us a 50-50 chance."
While Young was granted the freedom to explore opportunities with the expansion PNG Chiefs, the NRL has intervened due to disputes over evaluation, stalling any potential move.
Currently, Young is weighing two contract offers.
The first is a three-year extension with the Raiders valued at $1.1 million annually, which would mark him the highest-paid player in the club's history.
The second comes from the Chiefs, offering $900,000 a year, tax-free, over the same duration.
Brent Read from Fox Sports NRL360 highlighted Young's frustrations during this prolonged waiting period, stating, "He's been offered the opportunity to go to the NRL about this so he's obviously not happy."
Read added, "You don't go to the RLPA if you're not happy."
Young's engagement with the NRL suggests his urgency to finalize an agreement swiftly.
