Bulldogs big boss Phil Gould has dropped a bombshell for Canterbury fans, revealing that star wingers Jacob Kiraz and Enari Tuala are both facing some serious injury concerns.
It's a tough blow for the Bulldogs, who have already lost some key players in the off-season, including the likes of Josh Addo-Carr and Jeral Skelton.
Kiraz, who had an impressive season in 2024 and helped Canterbury break their finals drought, has been sidelined with a back injury that has been plaguing him for months.
The lightning-fast winger is expected to miss the start of the new season, but there are fears that he could be out for even longer.
On top of that, new recruit Enari Tuala has suffered a nasty foot injury, putting his debut for the Bulldogs on hold.
It's a tough break for the young winger, who was looking sharp in training before the injury setback.
But as they say in rugby league, when one player goes down, another steps up.
Young guns Ratu Jehtro Rinakama and Jonathan Sua put in solid performances in the pre-season victory over the Tigers, scoring impressive tries and catching the eye of Gould.
With these youngsters waiting in the wings, Canterbury will be looking to overcome this double blow and start the season on a high note.
