In a thrilling Super League clash, Huddersfield Giants managed to hold off a determined Leeds Rhinos side to secure a crucial win to keep their play-off hopes alive.

The Giants showcased their defensive prowess as they weathered a second-half fightback from their fellow play-off contenders.

The Giants asserted their dominance early on, crossing the try line through Sam Halsall, Kevin Naiqama, and former Rhino Tui Lolohea.

This gave them a comfortable 16-12 lead at halftime, with Luke Hooley and Ash Handley responding for Leeds.

Despite losing James Bentley to injury in the first half, Leeds showed immense resilience and threw everything they had at the Giants.

However, their efforts went unrewarded as they failed to breach Huddersfield's stubborn defence.

It was Will Pryce's penalty goals and a Jake Connor drop goal that ultimately saw the Giants through to victory.

The crucial points secured by these kicks proved to be the difference between the two sides.

With this win, Huddersfield Giants moved level with Leeds and Hull FC on 20 points in the Super League table.

However, they still face stiff competition from Salford, Hull KR, and Warrington, who are currently four points clear in the race for the remaining play-off spots.

The Giants' victory not only keeps their hopes alive but also adds another layer of excitement to the intense battle for the play-offs.

Fans can expect nail-biting encounters as these teams fight tooth and nail to secure their spot in the upcoming playoffs.
