Parramatta Eels forward Andrew Davey has made the difficult decision to retire from the NRL, following advice from medical experts.

The 31-year-old, who has played for multiple clubs including the Sea Eagles and Bulldogs, has called time on his career after 44 NRL games.

Davey's rugby league journey began in Parramatta, where he joined the club from Mackay in Queensland.

After a brief stint with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, he returned to the Eels under the guidance of coach Brad Arthur in 2023.

Unfortunately, Davey's retirement has been prompted by a series of severe concussions he suffered during the previous season, forcing him to end his contract early.

It is a sad ending to what could have been a fairytale career for the talented forward.
