Former NRL winger Izaac Thompson has signed with the Western Suburbs Magpies for the 2025 season after being farewelled by the South Sydney Rabbitohs at the end of the 2024 NRL season.

Initially joining the Canberra Raiders on a train-and-trial contract, Thompson has now moved to the Magpies, the NSW Cup side of the Wests Tigers, effective immediately.

He made his debut in 2022 and played 14 games for the Rabbitohs, scoring six tries over three seasons, with five of those appearances coming in 2024.

Thompson likely signed a reserve-grade contract with the Magpies, which does not include any NRL components.

Thompson recently featured in a match against the Newcastle Knights alongside teammates Charlie Staines, Josh Feledy, and Solomone Saukuru.

The move to the Magpies provides Thompson with a fresh start and an opportunity to showcase his skills in the NSW Cup competition.
