The antics of a Sharks trainer during the clash against the Raiders has sparked controversy and debate in Rugby League circles.

The Canberra Raiders are said to be seething after a cheeky move by the Cronulla Sharks trainer, who ran alongside goalkicker Jamal Fogarty as he lined up a crucial kick on Sunday night.

The Raiders squandered an 18-point lead within the first 23 minutes, finding themselves trailing 30-18 after 62 minutes of play.

Just when it seemed like the game was slipping away, the Raiders managed to strike back with a try from winger James Shiller in the 71st minute.

This left Fogarty facing a challenging sideline conversion, with the potential to narrow the gap to just a converted try.

Fogarty's kick appeared to be on target, but it cruelly curved out and struck the post, leaving the Raiders trailing by eight points.

The missed conversion proved costly, as the Sharks went on to score again and secure a 36-22 victory.

This incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of Rugby League, where even the smallest actions can have a significant impact on the outcome of a match.

The debate over 'gamesmanship' and sportsmanship will no doubt continue to divide fans and pundits alike.
