Jaida Faleono and Elise Simpson have been welcomed into the Canberra Raiders NRLW squad for the upcoming 2025 season, as reported by raiders.com.au.

Faleono, who made her NRLW debut in 2024 and played in the final three games of the season, is returning for her second year with the team.

Simpson, on the other hand, is an accomplished Australian Youth Touch Football and Rugby Sevens representative and is entering her second year with the Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup team.

She was also the recipient of the Raiders' Katrina Fanning Scholarship in 2024.

Both players have had experience with the Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup team in the 2024 and 2025 seasons and will now be transitioning to the NRLW squad when pre-season training kicks off on May 12.

Coach Darrin Borthwick expressed his enthusiasm for having Faleono back for the upcoming season, noting her growth and potential following her debut in 2024.

Borthwick stated, "Jaida is returning for her second season with the NRLW squad after showcasing her skills last year.

She has a great work ethic and attitude, and we are excited to see her development continue in 2025." Additionally, he highlighted Simpson's impressive achievements in youth touch football and rugby sevens, anticipating that her talent and dedication will be valuable assets to the team.

Overall, the addition of Faleono and Simpson to the Raiders NRLW squad brings a mix of experience and potential, with both players having already proven themselves in their respective roles.

As they transition to the top-tier NRLW competition, they will have the opportunity to further showcase their skills and contribute to the Raiders' success in the upcoming season.
