Eels Sign Versatile Player as Forward Injuries Mount
In a strategic move, the Parramatta Eels have secured Harrison Edwards from the North Queensland Cowboys, who have released the 25-year-old for immediate transfer.
Edwards' contract with the Eels extends until the conclusion of the 2027 season.
The talented forward joined the Cowboys mid-way through the 2024 season after transitioning from the Bulldogs, quickly becoming a key player with 37 appearances over nearly three seasons.
His ability to play as a prop, hooker, and lock is a rare asset that has garnered praise from both clubs.
"Harry has been a wonderful contributor to the club since he arrived in North Queensland," remarked Cowboys Football Club CEO Micheal Luck in the club's official statement.
"He has been asked to play numerous different positions and always answered the call with enthusiasm."
"We wish Harry all the best in his return to New South Wales."
Edwards' signing comes at a crucial time for the Eels.
This season has seen the team struggle in their forward pack, with three of their key forwards already ruled out for the remainder of the year.
