The NRL has announced the nominees for the 2023 NRL Dally M Team of the Year and individual Dally M awards for the NRL Telstra Premiership.
The Dally M Awards recognize the outstanding performers in both the NRL Telstra Premiership and NRL Telstra Women's Premiership.
The awards will be presented on September 27 in Sydney.
This year, there have been significant changes to the voting process for the Dally M awards.
Two independent judges now give out votes on a 3,2,1 basis for every game, allowing players to earn a maximum of six votes per game.
In previous years, players could only earn three votes per game.
The addition of a second judge aims to increase the fairness of the voting process and remove potential variances that may arise from a single judge.
Players who are suspended for two NRL regular season games are ineligible for any Dally M award.
A one-game suspension results in a deduction of six points, whereas in past seasons, it was only three points.
However, players who become ineligible due to suspension can still earn points in subsequent games to maintain the integrity of the voting process throughout the regular season.
