The Dragons have granted Josh Kerr an immediate release, and The Daily Telegraph reports he will join Hull FC in the English Super League.
The 30-year-old is reportedly set to begin a multi-year deal in 2027, a move that could end his NRL career.
Kerr debuted for the Dragons in 2019 and played 87 games for the club across spells from 2019 to 2022 and in 2026.
He made 48 appearances for the Dolphins from 2023 to 2025, and played seven times for the Indigenous All-Stars.
He was named in Queensland's State of Origin squads in 2020 and 2025, but his closest approach to a Maroons debut was as 18th man.
Supporters were divided, with some saying Kerr still had more to offer in the NRL and others backing the Dragons' decision.
One prominent Dragons fan wrote: "Fastest play-the-ball in the NRL for a big man, one of the only offloaders. Yes he's got some negatives to his game, but he's a point of difference."
Another fan wrote: "Kerr very good at Cup level and will go very well in Super League. A tad slow for NRL which is obvious. Good luck to the big guy."
A third supporter added: "Lovely guy and wish him the best."
The Dragons are reshaping their 2027 squad, with Keaon Koloamatangi joining a middle rotation that includes Toby and Ryan Couchman, Loko Pasifiki Tonga and Jacob Halangahu.
