Jesse Southwell contributed 44 points as the Australian Jillaroos set a new Women's World Cup scoring record against Wales.
Australia won 124-6 at CommBank Stadium, becoming the first team in the tournament's history to score more than 100 points in a match.
Jaime Chapman scored six of the Jillaroos' 21 tries, while Southwell scored once and landed 20 of 21 conversions.
The Australians were ahead 60-0 at half-time and continued scoring after the break.
The scale of the win may do little to address criticism of the women's tournament's uneven match-ups.
Australia finished its three group games with an aggregate score of 242-6, following victories over Samoa 40-0, England 78-0 and Wales.
The Jillaroos will meet Fiji in the semi-finals next Sunday night at Allianz Stadium and will be strong favourites to reach the final.
