Dragons' Feagai Discusses Uncertainty Surrounding Tigers Move

NRL Rd 24 – Tigers v Dragons

St George Illawarra Dragons winger Mathew Feagai has revealed the latest developments regarding the ongoing situation related to the Castleford Tigers' acquisition of three Red V players headed to England in 2027.

Feagai, along with Damien Cook and Tyrell Sloan, has secured agreements to join the Northern Hemisphere under the guidance of former Dragons assistant Ryan Carr.

Carr departed from his coaching position at the Dragons at the end of the previous year and is thought to be a key factor influencing the players' decision to sign with the Tigers.

However, the Super League club has since suspended Carr, leading to uncertainty about his coaching tenure at Castleford amidst reports of an internal inquiry that caused his recent absence.

Feagai acknowledged he has been aware of the surrounding speculation but prefers to let his management and teammate Cook handle his next steps with the Tigers, stating he's "been talking to him (Cook) more than the club."

This week, the Samoan international initiated a conversation with the Tigers' owner to resolve any outstanding issues.

"I've actually been letting Damo (Damien Cook) look after everything," Feagai shared on Wednesday.

"I think I'm talking to the owner tonight, which would be my first time."

"All of my focus is just enjoying this season as much as I can, and playing good footy."
