Adam Doueihi, playmaker for the Wests Tigers, returned to training on Tuesday morning after opting out of the match against the Canberra Raiders last Saturday.
Since departing the club on Thursday, he has participated in discussions with coach Benji Marshall, CEO Shaun Mielekamp, and football director Pat Richards.
The 27-year-old took the opportunity to address his teammates, clarifying the events that led to his temporary exit.
Before rejoining training, he was seen with teammates Alex Seyfarth and Starford To'a, and was welcomed back by Sunia Turuva with a warm hug after taking Monday off.
Initially, Doueihi was not included in the squad due to expectations of a suspension for the Raiders matchup last week.
With this in mind, Javon Andrews was chosen to debut at halfback, partnering with Jarome Luai in the halves. Benji Marshall later informed Doueihi he would take on a lock position instead of halfback after realizing he wouldn't face suspension.
Following the heavy 56-10 defeat to the Raiders, Benji Marshall mentioned that Doueihi was not in the best mental state considering recent occurrences.
On Monday, Doueihi departed the Tigers Centre of Excellence after a concluded meeting where the Tigers CEO mentioned a favorable outcome with the halfback and his agent, Isaac Moses, along with Marshall and Richards.
After his Thursday walkout, it was reported on Sunday that Doueihi was planning to request a release from the Tigers.
