The North Queensland Cowboys have reportedly shut down forward Jack Gosiewski's request for a release.
The second-rower has been climbing the ladder at the club, especially after Luciano Leilua's departure to the St George Illawarra Dragons.
However, he still finds himself behind Heilum Luki, Jeremiah Nanai, and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki.
Despite Luki's injury, Gosiewski is currently in the line-up.
But when the team is at full strength, he would likely miss out on Todd Payten's top 17.
Gosiewski made the move to the Cowboys in 2023 after leaving the Dragons and previously playing for the Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles.
However, he has only featured in eight first-grade games before the recent clash against the Brisbane Broncos in Round 4.
Reports from News Corp suggest that Gosiewski recently asked for a quick exit from his contract in Townsville to join the Broncos.
But for now, it seems like the Cowboys are holding firm and want to keep him in their squad.
