Former South Sydney Rabbitohs star Damien Cook has now found himself in the den of the St George Dragons.
Cook, a seasoned hooker, was eager to forge a partnership with fellow veteran Ben Hunt.
However, his game plan took a hit when Hunt was unexpectedly released from his contract, ruling him out from playing with the Dragons next season.
In an interview with 9News, Cook didn't hold back his disappointment over Hunt's exit, admitting he was "pretty devastated" not to have the opportunity to team up with him.
Hunt's presence had played a major role in Cook's decision to join the Dragons, although Cook made it clear that it wasn't the only reason for his move.
"I'm pretty devastated about Benny leaving," Cook said solemnly.
Now, Cook is looking to step up and take on a leadership role within the Dragons' pack, ready to lead the charge on the field and guide his new teammates towards victory.
Only time will tell if Cook can fill the void left by Hunt's departure and lead the Dragons to glory.
