Aussie footy fans were left stunned this week as two NRL coaches made some drastic changes to their lineups, showing that they are not afraid to shake things up early in the season.

Souths coach Jason Demetriou and Newcastle counterpart Adam O'Brien have taken the bold step of dropping their starting halfbacks, with Lachlan Ilias and Jackson Hastings being benched for this weekend's games.

Injuries have also played a part in some big changes for the Broncos and Roosters, while Manly and the Tigers have had to get creative with their backline selections.

But it's not all doom and gloom, as the Bulldogs, Titans, and Warriors have all welcomed back key players to give their teams a much-needed boost.

The Dragons have even handed NRL debuts to Jesse Marschke and Blaize Talagi, while Jack Wighton is set to make his long-awaited debut for the Rabbitohs.

It's shaping up to be an exciting round of matches, so don't forget to catch all the action on Kayo without any pesky ad-breaks during play.
