Coach Criticizes Referee After Loss

‘No questions on the officiating?’: Ryles’ parting shot at referee after Wahs down ugly Eels

After the Eels suffered a 36-14 defeat against the Warriors, coach Jason Ryles expressed his frustration with referee Gerard Sutton.

As the post-match press conference drew to a close, Ryles, along with player Moses, stood up to leave.

Before exiting, he directed a pointed inquiry at the assembled reporters.

"No questions on the officiating?" he remarked.

In the match, the Eels were penalized eight times compared to the Warriors' three, although they had fewer ruck infringements with five, while New Zealand had seven.

It remains unclear which specific decisions Ryles was alluding to in his subtle critique, but he did indicate that "fundamental errors" adversely affected his team.

The Warriors showcased their skills by scoring six tries at CommBank Stadium, with the Eels attempting a comeback after two quick tries in the second half.
