The NRL expansion teams may be circling like sharks, but Penrith coach Ivan Cleary is firmly rooted in his love for the Panthers and his superstar son Nathan.

Ivan, a seasoned veteran with three premiership wins under his belt, is committed to the ever-evolving Panthers and their relentless "remodelling" work on the field.

Despite reported interest from potential expansion teams, Ivan shut down any talk of coaching against his son with a resounding "no." Nathan, the playmaking sensation, is poised to make his long-awaited return in round 20, and Ivan is confident that he will come back "really hungry" and ready to conquer any mental demons from his injury setbacks this season.

With long-term deals at the club, the Cleary duo's future at Penrith seems secure, with officials expressing their desire to keep them in Panther territory for life.

As the NRL landscape evolves with the addition of new teams, Ivan remains focused on the present, locked in with Penrith until the end of 2027.

"I love the Panthers, I have no thoughts about going anywhere else," Ivan declared, emphasizing his loyalty to the club.

And if the unthinkable were to happen, any move to another team would undoubtedly include taking Nathan along for the ride.

The Cleary connection is a powerful force in the rugby league world, and Ivan is committed to keeping their legacy alive in the heart of Penrith.
