Lowly Castleford Tigers have made the decision to part ways with their second head coach of the season, Andy Last.

Last's dismissal came shortly after the team's disappointing performance on Friday.

The Tigers have had a tough season, managing to win only four games so far, and their recent loss to their West Yorkshire rivals has resulted in them slipping to the bottom of the Super League table.

Their next game against second-bottom Wakefield is of utmost importance as it could potentially determine their fate in terms of relegation.

Castleford announced Last's departure "with immediate effect" in a concise two-line statement, promising to release a more detailed statement after the weekend.
