The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have made it official that Mark O'Meley will become the head coach of the NRLW team for the 2027 season.
He will enhance the women's first-grade squad following a successful three-year tenure as the Harold Matthews head coach, along with his experience leading the Knights NSW Cup team.
In addition, O'Meley has contributed to various Bulldogs programs for both men's and women's talent, as well as state-level pathway initiatives.
Brayden Wiliame, the current head coach, will resign at the end of the season to take on a pathways role in the men's system after leading the NRLW team for the past 18 months.
Known affectionately as 'Ogre,' he is regarded as a club icon in Belmore and will foster a strong culture within the women's team during their formative years as a franchise.
O'Meley made 110 appearances for the club, featuring in the front row during the Bulldogs' 2004 premiership victory against the Roosters.
Beyond his club accomplishments, he has represented New South Wales in 10 matches and played for Australia at Test level 14 times.
"I'm incredibly grateful and blessed to be given the opportunity to be the NRLW Head Coach for 2027," O'Meley said in a Bulldogs statement.
"It's a role I'm extremely proud of, and one I don't take lightly. My philosophy has always been about building strong connections, setting high standards, keeping things simple and making sure we're the best we can be at the basics."
