Lauren Brown, a talented rugby league player for the Titans, has recently embarked on a new and challenging career path as a firefighter.

This transition has required immense sacrifice and dedication on her part.

As she walks into a shipping container with over 30 kilos of weight on her body, she is enveloped in smoke, making visibility nearly impossible.

Despite her experience on the NRLW field and in representative games, Brown admits to feeling more nervous in this situation than she has ever felt before.

In the midst of darkness and intense heat, reaching temperatures of 500-600 degrees, she relies on her partner to help locate and rescue any casualties they come across.

Once she finds a person in need, she courageously drags them to safety before re-entering the container to extinguish the flames using the equipment she has carried with her throughout the entire operation.

Time is of the essence, as Brown must complete the task before the clock runs out.

Failure to do so would mean not getting another chance to prove herself.

Brown's life away from rugby league has undergone significant changes in the past year.

In December, she was accepted into the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, marking the realization of a long-held aspiration.

Balancing her firefighting duties with her role as a key player for the Titans has proven to be a demanding challenge.

The process of becoming a firefighter involved rigorous physical and cognitive testing, lasting two grueling years.

However, Brown's determination and perseverance paid off, and she now proudly serves as a firefighter on the Gold Coast.

Her commitment to both her sports career and her new profession exemplifies her unwavering dedication to chasing her dreams.
