The Brisbane Broncos are rumbling with the idea of a captaincy shake-up for the 2025 season, with new head honcho Michael Maguire hinting that Adam Reynolds may not be the man to lead the charge.
While Maguire has not yet made a definitive call on the matter, the pressure is on for Reynolds to prove his worth as skipper.
After a tumultuous 2024 campaign that saw the Broncos tumble down the ladder and miss out on the finals, following their grand final appearance in 2023, former coach Kevin Walters got the boot, paving the way for Maguire to take the helm.
Maguire wasted no time in implementing new training standards and setting the tone at the club.
However, the question of who will wear the captain's armband remains up in the air.
Maguire suggested that a decision might not come until the new year.
"As a captain, he's been through the wringer and faced his fair share of challenges, but when the whistle blows, he'll be out there giving it his all and showing what he's made of," Maguire commented, hinting at the tough road ahead for Reynolds.
With January looming, all eyes will be on the Broncos as they weigh up their options and look to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming season.
Time will tell if a changing of the guard is on the horizon for the Queensland powerhouse.
