Reece Walsh left training early on Tuesday due to a potential calf injury, raising significant concerns for the Brisbane Broncos ahead of their qualifying final against the Raiders on Sunday. The star fullback was observed walking off the training field at Red Hill in the morning, subsequently going indoors for an assessment by medical staff.

During his time at training, Walsh was seen clutching his calf and sat out for approximately 20 minutes before concluding his session. Reporters present noted that he performed some kicking drills prior to heading inside.

If Walsh is unavailable for the game against Canberra, it would be a considerable setback for the Broncos. The 23-year-old has been arguably the best player in the comp over the last six weeks, playing a crucial role in guiding the Broncos to a top-four finish, especially in the absence of injured key players Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam.

Walsh's injury scare unfolded in front of numerous media members, leading to speculation that the situation might be a tactical ploy. The Broncos reportedly suspect that the Raiders are engaging in mind games regarding a supposed injury to Josh Papalii during training, prompting thoughts of counter-strategy from their side.

In other news, Gehamat Shibasaki appears poised for a comeback after participating in the main training session on Tuesday. Notably, Jesse Arthars was moved to the reserve squad after taking Shibasaki's place when the latter was previously dropped for violating a team alcohol policy.

On the injury front, Adam Reynolds will remain sidelined for at least another week. Ben Hunt announced on Tuesday that he will be starting as halfback against Canberra, having not seen Reynolds practicing with the first team. "This week, I will definitely be wearing (the seven jersey)," Hunt stated on SEN. "I don't think Adam (Reynolds) and the other generals will be back yet. The mail I'm getting is that after this week, they will all be right to go. I've heard they're getting pretty close."
