Broncos Assistant Whisks Away to Super League Club

In a move that has set the Rugby League world abuzz, Brisbane Broncos assistant coach Lee Briers has officially set sail for greener pastures overseas.

The confirmation of his departure at the end of the 2024 NRL season sent shockwaves through the league community back in late July.

Having teamed up with Kevin Walters for the past two seasons, Briers played a pivotal role in steering the Broncos to the Grand Final showdown against the Panthers.

Their near-miss at clinching their first premiership since 2006 left fans on the edge of their seats.

After a lackluster season that saw the Broncos miss out on a top-eight finish, Briers has inked a two-year contract to join forces with St Helens RLFC in the Super League arena.

The return to his rugby league roots at the club where he kickstarted his professional career back in 1997 as a player has lit a fire in his belly.

"It's a real rollercoaster of emotions for me.

I've got butterflies in my stomach, feeling like I'm in the final minutes of a tight match.

This move has got me fired up and ready to tackle this new challenge head-on," Briers shared with saintsrlfc.com.
