The Perth Bears have made a significant impact in the recruitment arena by signing both Tyran Wishart and Nick Meaney from the Melbourne Storm, securing them on long-term contracts.
This duo represents the ninth and tenth players to join the Bears, who have already recruited Emarly Bitungane, Josh Curran, Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui, Liam Henry, Harry Newman, Sean Russell, Toby Sexton, and Luke Smith.
Both Wishart and Meaney hail from a successful team and are committed to the Bears for the foreseeable future. Wishart has signed a five-year contract that extends to 2031, while Meaney will stay for three years, concluding at the end of 2029.

Wishart is expected to form the club's inaugural halfback pairing with Toby Sexton. He expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating, "I see this is an opportunity to continue to evolve my game and be a part of something special for the NRL and sport in the country."
Additionally, he commented on the excitement surrounding the team, saying, "There is already so much buzz about the Perth Bears and I'm excited to have the opportunity to be a part of it."
