The Brisbane Broncos have announced that Adam Reynolds, their captain, will end his NRL career due to an ongoing calf injury.
"All NRL careers come to an end and unfortunately mine is today, I won't be playing this week or next week," Reynolds stated.
According to him, "The left calf was giving me nerve issues, and then I had a little grade one strain in the right calf which has not bounced back as quickly as I would've liked."
Reynolds explained, "I trained today and thought I would be a chance to play one last home game… but it's not to be."
He added, "I felt pretty good out there… but I had some conversations with Madge and the medical staff and they were quite concerned with the limited training I've done in the past couple of weeks."
Reflecting on his career, he said, "I've had a great career…I'm extremely fortunate I get to carry some great memories moving forward."
