Canberra star Hudson Young is focused solely on playing for the Raiders or the Chiefs, acknowledging that the recent signings by PNG have made the NRL's 19th franchise more enticing.
The Raiders have put forth a three-season extension worth $3.3 million to Young, who will be a free agent at the end of the year. They've also allowed him to enter negotiations with the Chiefs ahead of his official free agency date on November 1.
The Chiefs have made impressive acquisitions, securing talents like Jarome Luai, Brian To'o, Joey Manu, Alex Johnston, Zac Lomax, and Connor Watson even before their first free-agency window. Young recognized that the current roster's strength contributes to PNG's appeal.
"Yeah, it does," Young stated. "Obviously, you want to win, and you'd hate to go to a team in a different country when you don't know what's what, and if you're not winning, then it's going to make it harder. So obviously it is an attraction seeing players like that go there."
