Titans hooker Sam Verrills is set to undergo clean-out surgery, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old has been working tirelessly to recover from his injury since Round 2.

However, the Gold Coast medical team has decided that another surgical procedure is necessary to ensure he is fully fit for the 2024 pre-season.

This season has been challenging for Verrills, as he joined the Titans after a successful debut year with the Roosters.

Despite this setback, Verrills remains committed to the club until the end of the 2026 season.

In his absence, the Titans have the luxury of having Chris Randall and Kruise Leeming available to take on the dummy-half responsibilities for the remainder of the season.

The duo is expected to be named in the lineup for the upcoming clash against the Sharks on Friday.
