Will Daley's Dream Team Storm the Origin?

Daley’s massive call on Origin hopeful

Laurie Daley, the returning coach of the Blues, faces a pivotal decision regarding the fullback position for the upcoming State of Origin opener.

Ryan Papenhuyzen's stellar performance has put him in contention for his debut, following a record-setting 36 points in a recent match against the Wests Tigers, which included a swift hat-trick within the first 17 minutes.

Papenhuyzen has represented NSW at various youth levels, including under-16s, under-18s, and under-20s, and performed impressively for the Junior Kangaroos, scoring twice against France in 2019.

While it appears unlikely he will secure the fullback role over established players Dylan Edwards or James Tedesco, his explosive impact could earn him a spot on the bench.

Daley noted, "Yeah, he is someone who could play that role very well I think.

With the speed of the game, fatigue and all those types of things, you could inject him.

He could be there as cover for an injury to an outside back." This versatility makes Papenhuyzen a valuable asset, capable of turning the game around from the bench.
