Kevin Walters makes call on stripping Adam Reynolds of Brisbane Broncos captaincy

There's been some buzz in the Rugby League world as Kevin Walters has made a bold decision regarding Adam Reynolds and the Brisbane Broncos captaincy.

Walters has put his foot down and declared that Reynolds will remain the skipper for as long as he's wearing the maroon and gold jersey.

Despite the Broncos making a splash in the NRL grand final last year and being tipped as top contenders in 2024, their recent form has been less than stellar.

With seven losses in their last eight games, critics, including the outspoken former Broncos tough nut Gordon Tallis, have called for a shake-up in leadership on the field.

Tallis, never one to hold back, has pointed out the lack of direction and leadership within the team, suggesting that someone needs to step up and take charge.

He even threw his support behind promoting Pat Carrigan to captain in 2025, drawing on his own experience when he was given the captaincy in the absence of the legendary Allan Langer.

In true Rugby League fashion, Tallis emphasized the importance of putting the team first and leaving egos at the door.

He reminisced about the days when he was handed the captain's armband and challenged his teammates to lift their game, something he feels is lacking in the current Broncos squad.

So, as the Broncos navigate their way through a rough patch, all eyes will be on Reynolds and his leadership qualities as he tries to steer the team back on track.

Will he rise to the occasion like a true captain, or will the calls for change grow louder? Only time will tell in this game of highs and lows, twists and turns.
