Veteran Roosters Charged Following Round 18 Clash with Dragons

In a post-match stoush with the St George Illawarra Dragons, Roosters heavyweights Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Michael Jennings have found themselves in hot water with the Match Review Committee.

Waerea-Hargreaves copped a Grade Two Careless High Tackle Charge for an incident that went down in the 17th minute of the game, stirring up memories of the old days when rugged tackles were part and parcel of the game.

If the enforcer decides to take an early plea, he'll have to sit out of the next three battles on the field.

But if he chooses to fight it at the judiciary, he'll be benched for four games, leaving the Roosters a man down in the forward pack.

Meanwhile, Jennings found himself on the receiving end of a Grade One Careless High Tackle Charge after an incident in the 36th minute, a reminder that even the most seasoned players can find themselves in the firing line.

Opting for an early guilty plea will lighten the blow for Jennings, as he'll only have to cough up a $1000 fine, potentially giving him a chance to make amends on the field sooner rather than later.

As the Roosters lick their wounds and brace for the repercussions, fans can only hope that these setbacks will fuel their fire and bring out the fighting spirit that has defined the Roosters for generations.
